Craftin and Bakin

Had more fun trying some things out.  I went crazy for Valentines day and committed to making too many things.  Both E and J wanted to make both crafts for their class, so I was a valentine making fein for a couple of days.  Peeling crayons and cutting them is not fun and extremely messy.   I also wasn't sure the crayon would ever fully come out of my silicone backing mold.  The next time we eat brownie bites and they taste a bit waxy, I'll know why. I used my cutting machine to cut out fancy hearts that we attached the crayons to.  I had the kids cut the pieces, that I printed from the computer, for the super hero sucker.  I had to hot glue the mask on because I only have a hot temp gun and there was some burning of my fingers and subsequent cussing going on.  The frosty was a huge it, although I need to play with the recipe.  The recipe doesn't call for a specific amount of chocolate milk nor tell you how many quarts your ice cream maker should be.  It was still delish though and the kids are obsessed with it.  The kids didn't appreciate the buffalo dip as much as Nate and I and our friends.  Our friends kids loved it and thought I was such an amazing cook because of it.  I used canned chicken which gives off a fishy smell so you have to move past that and then you can enjoy the flavor explosion in your mouth.  We have been doing a lot of playing around with hair lately as well, also curtesy of my new pinning addiction.  Hey, at least I am actually using the ideas and not just sucking up gobs of time in cyberspace pretending to live a life I don't, right?  :0)

JDog is 13

This was JDogs 13 on the 13th year.  It is always fun when that happens.   The Saturday before his birthday he decided to invite a couple of friends to the movies.   They went to a movie that has been out for years, but they released it in 3D.  Then they came back to the house for giant cookie and ice cream and I dazzled them with my cotton candy machine.  I highly recommend getting one.  So fun!  


For his actual birthday we started out with Happy Birthdays from us and discussed instructions on what to do for him for lunch.  For the little ones I get to bring lunch and sit with them in the cafeteria at school where they proudly tell everyone that I am their Mom.  There are also lots of oohs and aahs of "are you J/E's Mom?" Sadly, that was an absolute no go for J.  He changed his mind a couple of times on what he wanted me to bring and then decided on a ff chicken sandwich and a can of mountain dew.  I was supposed to arrive at the school precisely at the time he would be walking from class to the cafeteria.  I was to just hand him his stuff and turn around and walk away.  No hug, no kiss, no hey everyone this is my awesome Mom, nothin!  Where has my little boy gone?   That night we took him out to dinner at the restaurant of his choosing and then he got to go with Dad to pick out a sniper rifle.  By the time they got home I was hanging out in my bed, so we moved the party up there.  Awesome donuts, presents from his siblings with thank you hugs and a documented kiss for Mom.  

Aaaarrr a Wolf

We had our annual Blue and Gold banquet last week which was a pirate theme.  Our cub scout master is A MAZ ING!  It was complete with a city, a ship, pirate booty, pop gun making class, and awards.  All the families were supposed to be supportive and dress up or else walk the plank.  Some families got into it more than others and one even took it so far as to bring a live bird on his shoulder.  Not this family.  We took the simple route.  Jared decided to kick it up a notch with the air cast boot as his "peg leg."  Ethan received his wolf award that night and as customary he pinned my award, for being his mom and helping him, on.  We are pretty proud of our little Pirate Bear.  

 The next morning on our way to church this is what we see looking out over the seat at us!   What a nut.  He was wishing so badly that we would let him wear it into church.  Sorry bud.  But, Sisters were looking fancy with their beautiful hairdos curtesy of moi.

What would you do....by Jordy

Jordyn was given a couple of writing assignments in class and they just made me laugh at how cute and sweet she is.
The first one was:

What would you do with $100.00    (the teacher mark was "Great!")
I would buy lots of things.  I would give some of my money to the poor because it is kind.  I would get some supplies for my family because I love them so much.  I would spend it on a party and it will be fun party and everybody is invited.  I would go shopping with all of my friends and it will be so much fun to do.  Theis are the things I woud buy.

The second one:

What would I do if I were 100  (the teacher mark was WOW)
I would not do many things.  I would watch tv every day.  I'd do nothing just take a nap all day long.  I' have my family visit and they would stay with me for awhile.  I would see my brothers and my Mom and Dad and sister.  I will read lots of book because I like reading.  I'd watch lots of channeles on tv.  I'd do nothing I would nap and rest by laying down.  This is my life if I were 100.
