We got our first day of summer vacation started out with a trip to the orthodontist for Ethan to get his expander placed and then all 4 kids got their teeth cleaned. Pretty exciting huh? When we got home the kids went outside to play and check on the pool. I guess Emma didn't see the bunny that was hanging out on the pool cover before she went and hit the button for it to retract. I walked outside just in time to see the pool cover going backward and the bunny running.. well, you know, fast as a bunny, forward. Before you could really even blink, the bunny had run out of pool cover and was now in flight soaring through the air. It was really one of the most unexpected, shocking and hilarious things I have witnessed. The poor little bunny was an excellent swimmer though and he just kept swimming around which the kids thought was extremely cute. Emma got the net and fished the soaking wet little bunny out and he just sat there for a minute, probably trying to process what had just happened to him. Then he took off for a bush in the yard and the kids sat and kept an eye on him for quite some time. Ethan even thought the bunny must be hungry so he got him an apple and cut it up and then they just sat back and waited and watched just in case the little guy needed them for anything. My kids are so stinkin cute I can hardly stand it sometimes!!!! What an exciting way to kick off our summer vacation......Hopefully we don't here the coyotes eating our new little friend tonight....... :0)
