Jordy turns 6

It's hard to believe that my little munchkin is 6 years old already and in the 1st grade. We had a nice little quiet birthday this year because I was out of town the weekend before her birthday and labor day was the next weekend and we were camping. So, she got a cake and she got to pick where we ate for dinner and she got her presents and lots of love. Her most prized gift this year had to be ordered online. They started carrying this particular pillow in stores, but they didn't carry the coveted turtle so I gave up and just ordered it. We hear the lovely song now all the time that goes with this pillow an it drives us all crazy, but she loves this thing.

Jordy is doing well for being the youngest in her class and she is getting some extra help everyday one on one for 30 minutes with her reading. She is really enjoying that time and loves the teacher that does the program. She gets to make books to bring home to read along with the other books she has to read each night. She is really building her confidence and really feels important and special with the extra attention.

Jordy is a true joy in our family and she has such a kind and loving heart and when I ask about her friends at school she always tells me that everyone is her friend. I also love it when she tells me that when she was in heaven she picked me to be her Mom. There's no doubt about that since people say she is a mini me. I also remind her that she may have picked me, but I also picked her. :)

Oh my goodness! She is getting so grown up. Where did little Jordy go? Sigh. I guess that's what you'd think of Natalie, too, huh? First grade is way too old, I keep telling her. Thing is, Natalie would be happy just staying home with Mom all day. She's my little sidekick. Happy birthday, little Miss Jordy! We miss you guys.
