First Day of School

Emma and Jared started school a couple of days before the little ones.  They are both doing cyber academy this year which Emma refers to as "nerd paradise."  This is their 8th and 9th grade year.  As you can see Jared isn't overly pleased with having to pose for a picture, but it cracks me up and is so him, so that's the one I posted.  They go in 2 days a week to a classroom and luckily they go in on the same days this year so it is less driving for me.  Yay!  The other days of the week they do their school work at home in a room that I converted into a classroom.  Jared is still going into the middle school for advanced band, but Emma decided not to do choir this year.  This disappointed me because she has such a lovely voice so the compromise was that she had to join the ward (church) choir.  :0)
Ethan and Jordyn started school on Monday and luckily they both seem to really like their teachers.  That always makes for a much happier school year.  Ethan is in the 4th grade and Jordyn is in the 3rd.  Jordyn loves all the clothes she picked out for school this year and looks like she belongs on a disney show.  Ethan is obsessed with workout type shirts and will wear nothing else.  I had to tell him to go back and try again on the first day of school when he came down in a pair of pants with holes in both the knees.  I begged him to at least look like his Mom loves him on the first day of school and then he can dress like ragamuffin for the rest of the year.
This is the second day of school for Jordyna and she decided to rock her fedora.  Those shoes kill me and were very expensive.  She paid the difference with her own money for what I would have spent on "normal" shoes.  I was worried that it would be one of those things that wouldn't translate well and when she showed up at school no one would like them and she would regret her months of begging me for them.  Not the case.  Everyone loves them and so does she and they work well for the skinny jeans and leggings that everyone is wearing.  She's my little fashionista.
