A Little Late

How did I forget to talk about Christmas?  I guess I've been busy.  I couldn't just not say a little something because I'm sure this is one of those Christmases that the kids will remember and talk about for a long time.

Christmas eve we have a tradition of opening pajamas.  Well, this year Jared and Nate were especially excited to give me a gift early and convinced me that I would love it and that they needed it for our nights celebration.  Well, now I'm intrigued.  What could they have gotten me that was so super thoughtful and made them want to burst with the anticipation.?  Ok, I'm in.  What do you have for me?

Wait for it.  Wait for it.  What the crap is this?  A soda machine?  You do realize that I haven't had a soda in over a year?  Jared busted out with his maniacal laugh and they thought they were just super hilarious.  Who wanted the soda machine?  Yeah, the rest of the family.  Giving it to me was just a bonus level of enjoyment!  Can you see how happy they were to be using it?  Punks!
Jordyn decided that we couldn't stop at the soda machine and that we simply must also open the homemade gifts.  Emma was going for "favorite son" award by making Nate something manly for Christmas.  A wood sign with string art that says "dad" that her and Jordyn made.  Jordyn also made me a snow globe with sea shells and Emma made me a candle in one of her precious tea cups.
We carried on our tradition of having fondu night and some friends stopped by for a bit to celebrate with us.
We also had to pull out our previous years goals from the gifts to Jesus stocking.  It is fun to look over past years goals ( we had 4 years worth) and see if we accomplished any of them.  What was super fun is that my SIL asked me to send her the goals her family did at our house last year.  If you are at my house on Christmas eve, you have to fill the cards out too and they will be a part of our family for the rest of eternity.  The kids were pretty grumpy about filling out the goals this year and it ended up not going very well.  When that torture session was finally over it was time to get out the pajamas.  OK, that pose I'm doing for my super cool shirt....yeah, it's bad, but that's who my family lives with.....cause it's all good in the hood!
When Jared decides to be in our family pictures it's hilarious.  His inner diva comes out and he just starts hamming it up.  There were lots of pictures of him being silly, but I was trying to cut back.  Emma loves to picture act as well and she is really funny.
We had to get all the gear we needed for our handgun training course so.... you know what we got for Christmas.  Those pictures should land us on a watch list for sure.  hahaha.  Yep, we're awesome! As part of my brain washing plan I also had to get the kids some paraphernalia from the school they need to attend.  Jared got some pretty sweet shirts that are so him and Jordyn got Emma a huge stuffed cat that she claimed she was "too old for"  yeah, not looking like that is the case now is it?
Merry belated Christmas!
