Jared is 16

It seems to be tradition now that for Jared's birthday we wear masks.  This year it was superhero.  I really wanted to be Captain America, but my kid's wouldn't let me.  "No, Mom, you're heathsmash."  It's a little nickname that I've picked up.  "My secret is that I'm always mad."  I tend to get pretty hangry and it is on those occasions that nickname is most used.  Jared wasn't happy there wasn't an ironman mask to wear.  Sorry, the package didn't come with that :0)
We wore our masks on the way to dinner....except me.  I didn't keep it on while driving.  The kids were having fun staring at people through the windows.  Jared had a hard time deciding where to go for dinner and we ended up at a burger joint.  We decided to represent as much of the animal kingdom as possible.  Jared had kobe beef, Ethan ostrich, Emma chicken, Nate turkey, Jordyn a milk shake, and me a plain ole burger.
Jared was also having a hard time picking out a movie to watch so Nate decided that he needed to be introduced to the Bourne movies.  I wasn't that interested in watching them again because I have since fallen out of love with Matt.  Seriously can't stand the man.  Life would be so much simpler if actors kept their mouths shut and stopped trying to jam their agenda down our throats.  Well, I had forgotten how much I love those movies.  It was really good.  It was also funny to see how far technology has come since then and that was state of the art.  It also made me realize just how much less invisible we are capable of becoming since then.

Jared decided that he wanted brownies and ice-cream instead of a cake.  I wanted them to be hot so I didn't make them until we got home from dinner.  During the middle of the movie we had to hit pause and dish up our treat.  The kids got mad at me because I wasn't thinking clearly and put wax candles in hot brownies.  Whoopsies!  They made me dig out around the candles to make sure I got all wax removed.....it still tasted fine!

Happy birthday!
