Summer Catching Up

I don't know why it's been so hard to keep caught up on the blog. I guess it was bound to happen. I had a good couple year run with keeping on top of things. I've gotten too busy and to lazy to write. So a quick catch up:

Jordyn celebrated her 11th birthday! She finally got the one thing she has been wanting for years- a cell phone. We got her a cheap 10 a month plan and a few toys that remind us that she is still little.
I debated and debated on whether or not to let her have a birthday party since she was getting a phone for her birthday. I decided at the last minute that she could invite some friends over to swim, but we were keeping it totally low key. I was surprised so many of the girls were able to come on such short notice.
They swam and played outside and then they went home. No decorations except for some balloons from the dollar store and some pink bags full of popcorn and a bottle of nail polish as parting gifts. We had the must have custard cake from freddy's and some pizza and called it a birthday party. Sometimes less really is more!
Our ward had a campout and we were the nerds that brought our rv to the party. It was a quick little adventure, but it's always nice to be outside. It was perfect whether - a little on the hot side.
Nate has been especially stressed out lately with expanding the practice and trying to keep up with all the new health regulation nightmares. Seriously nightmares. This country will never be the same! He needed to get out of town without taking the time to actually leave, so we literally went 2 miles north and stayed at a resort so he could un plug from the world. What better way to clear your mind than on a horse ride?
I was able to take the little ones on a couple of hikes towards the end of the summer. This was to a nice little waterfall. I love the sound of water and being surrounded by greenery. It was a fun hike and it wasn't very hot that morning and we were back by 1. That's my kinda day!

3 of us seminary teachers were up there together so we documented what we looked like before seminary was about to start and take over our lives.
I've got like 5 more posts to write so I'm being short and sweet - something that doesn't happen very often- enjoy! ;)
