RIP Gryphon

I thought about titling this post, as the wheel spins.....since this poor hampster had 4 lives.  She escaped being eaten by our cat 3 times and quite possible has been living with a punctured lung from the incidents, for all I know.  What finally did her in?  A broken water dispenser.  (side note~ I'm on my ipad and it isnt finding my spelling mistakes, whatever will I do)

So, the cat was enjoying the fact that Gryphons new home was in the bathtub to discourage her running through the entire house when she escaped.  This was a happy day for our cat.  She loved to sit in the tub next to the cage and pray that the hampster would escape.  Our cat would try to help the situation along by messing with the cage.  One such instance broke the water dispenser.  dun dun dun

It was just last night that I heard that darn wheel spinning and spinning and spinning all through the night.....  Ethan has been pretty good about checking on G, but I guess he was slacking.  The poor thing spun itself into deyhdration and then couldn't rehydrate because the water dispenser was no longer capable of holding water.  So sad

Jared went to check on her this morning and it was apparent that she was no longer living.  The kids were so heartless about the entire thing.  Quote from Ethan, "well, she was only 10 dollars."  I was the only one sad that we killed a living creature.

We had a little service for poor little G, whom we killed.  She rode in style, by wheelbarrow, to her final resting spot.  We burried her behind our back fence and gave her a little headstone.  RIP little G, sorry we didn't get your water fixed....the cat will miss you.
