Frankentoes

***Warning.  If you get skeeved out by feet, stitches, or anything that could be considered gross.  Stop.  Go no further.

Ahhh, this brings back such memories.  It wasn't that long ago that my toes looked just like that....only I did both feet at one time....because I'm psychotic.  Jared also got an implant in his foot so he couldn't put any weight on it.  Unless I was willing to carry him to the toilet and sponge bathe him, doing both at the same time was not an option.

Drum roll please!  (As if you can't already see the pics below -HA)  There are his lovely little piggies.  The scar near his ankle is where the implant went in.  I'm jealous that my dr didn't feel the need to do my pinky as well and Jared got his done.  They look really, really good.  I'm hoping that since he didn't spend 30 plus years of his life with those toes that they will loose some of the bulbousness that mine didn't.
2 weeks after the surgery, it was time to get the stitches out.  Jared kept saying it was no big deal, but the look on his face would suggest otherwise.  hehe.
The first couple of weeks it was hard for him to get around and he discovered that he really didn't like narcotics.  He didn't like feeling cloudy headed and nauseous.  That's good.  I've been pushing him harder to get up and walk around.  It's also time for him to start doing chores again.

He thinks it's pretty funny how much his leg has deteriorated from lack of use and being bound for 2 weeks.  He already has tiny legs and now his left one is even smaller.  He's getting around pretty good but blames me for his genetics which he is convinced is the reason his back is killing him.  Really it's because of the leg length discrepancy with the boot on.  Of course.  Isn't that the way?  Blame all the bad traits on your parents but give them none of the credit for the good ones.
