Anger Management

When Jordyn gets so upset that she can no longer be reasoned with I pick her up, plop her on her bed, shut the door and tell her she can come out when she has calmed down. While she is in there wailing away she finds an outlet for the rage by completely stripping her bed of all bedding and then rolling around in the bedding on the floor. When I come back in her room to see if she is finished being so mad I have to suppress my laugh while she dramatically tells me all the ways that I made her so mad. Well, today was different. Her and Ethan were fighting over the computer and then a scratching match broke out so off to the bed she went, only this time all the bedding was already off the bed because I had just washed it. Uh oh, now what? haha. When I came back in to check on her this time she was still rolling on the floor, but neatly placed on her bed were all the glow in the dark stars that used to be on her wall. They were even sticky goop side up with none of them touching each other in a nice little line. She just had to disrupt the order of things to feel better I guess. Maybe this will turn into what I do when I'm really mad.......pull out the fridge and clean behind it or take a toothbrush to the floor or a bathroom or search the house for all the missing socks...crazy stuff like that. It is also funny that it is totally cute for my 5 year old to throw such a colossal fit, but if one of the older ones do, it is so not cute!

Hey, at least her destruction is totally organized. Nice of her to leave the stars goop side up!

I love that she knows what she needs to do to feel a bit better. There are adults out there that can't figure that one out. Miss me some Jordy!
