Temple Trip

The Primary had an activity where the kids got to go and get a tour of the Abq Temple grounds. It was an extremely cold and windy day and Jordy somehow managed to not bring a coat. Being the awesome self sacrificing Mom that I am, I gave up my jacked to her. ;) My boys deliberately didn't bring coats because they think they are tough or something like that so their suffering was self inflicted. We had a very nice tour guide... except for the time she really snapped and yelled at poor Ethan for standing in a flower bed. Oh, well. It did get him to finally calm down. The kids got to learn about all the symbols on the outside of the T and then at the end they each went up to it to touch it.

I can't remember who said it, but there is a quote "If you touch the T it will touch you back." We all stood in silence as we touched the T and then the tour was over and we got a cookie. As I was standing there touching the wall all I could think about was how seriously freezing cold I was and that I really hoped this was the end of the tour. I really wasn't worried about feeling the Spirit while touching the T because I have felt it so strongly while actually inside, so I just shrugged my shoulders and went on. We had to zoom over to a family baptism right after that and were conveniently already in church clothes. While I was sitting there waiting for the B to get started I was talking with a friend and suddenly one of the prelude songs for some reason brought the spirit flooding into my heart and I knew that it was the T touching me back. It was pretty cool that even though I didn't need that experience to happen for my testimony to be alright I was still blessed with the experience and I also got to be at a baptism where the Father and Mother were baptized a month before and now the father was b 2 of his children. Wow! It was like touching Heaven! What a great day!

It also helps that Jordyn is the cutest when asking for something and the loudest when she doesn't get it. I wouldn't want the poor girl to be cold either!
