In addition to finding Richard and Rolanda when I got home from LA, I also found their Christmas lists under the tree.
We'll start with Richard's. He has been talking about #10 for weeks. He is ever hopeful that he will somehow end up with a real live ostrich. I don't know what possessed him to have these thoughts or what he thinks he is going to do with one. I do know that after seeing "the Hunger games" he wanted a goat. He still wants a goat, but I guess he now wants an ostrich more. Oh the dashed dreams and heartache that await him Christmas Morn.
The marionette is cracking me up a bit, but when I think about it -that fits. Now that - I can accommodate….although, do I want to? His obsession with assassins creed is getting a bit weird. He doesn't even play the video game, but the neighborhood boys love to play assassins with nerf guns and weapons, but the "real" stuff is expensive!
I love that he wants -not just a phone- but one "with data and stuff." Keep dreaming buddy. The Oculus rift is equally cracking me up. To hear both my boys talk about it and them being in the beta stage and getting a beta kit to have them now and they are so amazing because etc…. they are virtual reality glasses and so not happening!
This is the second list I received from Jordyn. The first one is in my room somewhere- it has all the cutout pictures from the catalogs with the prices and commentary written on a lovely piece of construction paper.
Jared keeps mocking Jordyn for wanting a "queasy bake oven" and I keep telling her that she gets to use the real one whenever she wants and things taste much better in it, but she's been sold a dream! Her list is 100 percent girl right down to the girl version of nerf and legos they now have. There is a pretty good chance that Jordyn is not going to be disappointed on Christmas morn because she has more realistic expectations….aside from the barbie house that is too expensive….and I know she wants it pretty bad, so I guess another dream will die.
I wish I could say that my kids' lists including feeding the hungry and clothing the poor and wishing for world piece or being awesome missionaries etc...but they're kids!
My kids have found a new thing to make fun of me for…..my "super spirituality." If only it where is true as they think it is :0) Jared said that his teacher on Sunday asked what their parents would think if they decided to quit school and go on a mission. Jared said, "I'm pretty confident I know what the answer of my super spiritual Mom would be -YES! Spirituality and serving a mission are the only important things in this world." (I can't remember if he qualified that last statement as something I would say or he just stated that) - this from the kid that wants a lock pic set for Christmas - well, that and to build a computer from scratch :0)
