Ugly?

It has begun.  The jam packed Christmas events.  Friday night- which was friday the 13th this year.  I love Fri the 13th so much... I decided to get married on a Fri the 13th of May in 1994……anyway….It was Nate's work Christmas party.  We do something different every year.  Sometimes we just go to a restaurant, last year we were at our house, this year we were at our marketing specialists house.  Let me tell you, there is a reason she does our marketing!  She is the happiest, most talkative, most awesome person who loves to have fun.

Part of the party was to wear an ugly christmas sweater.  Well, there was a run on ugly sweaters at Savers so I had to improvise.  I must have just missed all the good stuff because everyone came in hideous vests and sweaters and even a Mrs Clause skirt- none of which I found while I was there!  I ended up just buying the reddest sweaters at the cheapest price I could find.  Then I hit up the bag o crap wall and found a bag of ornaments.  Then I hit up the dollar store, loaded up a British mini series to watch and went to work.

Ok, mine turned out a little too cute.  It was hard to defile such a cute sweater.  Nate was mad at me that I ruined a perfectly good Christmas tie.  He has a thing for Christmas ties and didn't care that I spent 2 dollars on it at Savors for the express purpose of cutting it.  Not to brag, but he won ugliest sweater…..it could have been that he was the boss….but I think his was the best -especially the plush santa I sewed on it that had one eye covered by his hat- we called him pirate santa!
The gnome looking creature in the middle pic on the left won funniest ugly sweater, which he deserved, because it was an awesome look (his wife is our office manager and they are long time friends from when we first moved to NM).  There was even duct tape involved and I love me some duct tape!

Santa even made and appearance and he was so dang cute it was killing me.  He was a friend of a friend of our hostess and I wanted to take him home with us.  The funniest part was that I was the official photographer of the santa photos and when it was my turn Nate's associate took the pic of me.  Let's just say that just because you are smart enough to become a podiatrist- doesn't make you smart enough to operate a camera.  When I looked over the pics I discovered that I wasn't in any of them.  Our hostess had to go run after him after he left and bring him back in so I could have my pic with Santa (we had a different podiatrist this time- my hubby- take my pic) .  I really didn't want her to go track him down but she is persistent and there is no point arguing with her…. I was glad though.  Who doesn't want a chance to sit on Santa's lap 2x in one night?
