We may live in a desert and there may not be too many redeeming qualities about this place, but we do have some beautiful areas just 45 min from us. For Labor day we decided to beat the crowds and snag a table in the park for a breakfast in nature. As soon as I got out of the car and heard the running water. Yes! Running water. I was in heaven. Unfortunately we were there with other people so I couldn't just take my camp chair down by the water and read......I should have just asked to hitch a ride with that motorcycle gang we followed up the mountain.
Emma and I cracked up when we heard our little friends running around with sticks saying "you shall not pass!" That's Emma's thing. She has a major love of all things Gandalf and LOTR. She couldn't let them have all the fun, so she joined them. I love it!
We had a wonderful pancake, egg, and bacon breakfast grilled up in the great outdoors. In true "us" fashion, we didn't stay long and were home by 11:30. But, while we were there we really enjoyed our friends.....and their babies :0) We also got to trick ourselves into thinking we live somewhere amazing....except that "amazing" produces lots and lots of allergies and then we remembered why we like the desert ;)
