Melodious Sunday

So, that title would have been much better if it had been a Monday.

Emma's best friend attends a charter school for the arts in Santa Fe.  Yesterday was their 11th and 12th grade recitals.  Emma was still feeling a bit shy about driving- and it was 40 miles- and then navigating the crazy streets of down town Santa Fe -and then she didn't know where she was going, so I put on my big girl pants and decided to take her....actually I just stayed in my Sunday dress.  It was a good thing I took her because we had to park a few streets from the church it was held in and pay for parking on a one way street.  We also had to walk by some hecklers.  She would have been frazzled.  I ended up very much enjoying the concert because unlike some high school vocal recitals, these kids actually sing very very well....and we made J's day by being there.
Let me tell you, those kids can sing!  I especially swoon over male singers.  The boy with the bow tie was my favorite.  It was not his apparel that won me over completely, but it did score points, it was his buttery smooth, yet very well projected, voice and his facial expressions.  He was killing me with cuteness.

Jordyn was bored and couldn't believe she had gotten roped into such a thing.  She was especially not happy with me when I wouldn't let her play with my phone.  I told her she needed to learn to be still and attentive.....she decided to entertain herself by making silly faces in the glass railing for the balcony.  Luckily we were the only ones who decided that the acoustics were probably better from up there so we had it to ourselves.  Unfortunately I didn't bring my camera and as always, I regret the decision.  So, we have to settle for crappy phone pics instead.

I was able to get Jordy to take note of the way the accompanist was using her hands on the piano and how beautiful the songs she was playing were.  It was lovely and she was crazy talented.  In addition to me admiring the male vocal cords, I also admire greatly when men play the piano, I mean seriously, what girl doesn't?  Thus, I am holding firm to Ethan playing the piano so the ladies will thank me.  I've got to do my part for making sure there are swoonable men out there to be dated.  heehee
