Family Bonding

Well, there is one sure fire way to spend some quality family time….have a crazy person for a mother.  My lovely rash is trying to give one last go at flare up before giving up the fight and clearing up.  My kids are taking shifts watching me and slapping my hands to keep me from scratching.  Jordyn is a little more kind and sits next to me and holds my hands.

Nate decided it was time to break out the calamine impregnated gauze because anytime he uses it on patients they come back singing praise of healing and miraculous feelings of relief and joy from the stuff.  So, because it was either that or saw my legs off, I opted for the messy gauze.  Jordyn was the perfect little helper.  My husband was stunned at the amount of spreading that is occurring.  You can't tell from the pictures, but both of my legs, in entirety, are covered in small little itch bumps with 2 large islands on both legs on each side of my calves…..and now my right forearm has bumps.

My husbands theory?  I'm cray cray.  He had a little song about me, 'you really are a freak of nature' set to the tune of "super freak."  The only reason for a rash like this to spread?  Craziness.  He's never not seen someone improve on a cortisone pack and the impregnated gauze…. well, yes he has…me…when this happened to my arms!  I'm not overly stressed out so I'm not sure what could be bugging me so bad that would manifest into such a rash.  I like to just call out random weird deceases that I could potentially be dying from and today it was diphtheria.  Yah, can you see where this went with a husband that was in the mood to mock?  Dip?  With theories?

At least we know how to entertain ourselves through trials. I am also pretty lucky to have a family that is there to make sure I have some skin left when this passes….I think they are just enjoying bossing me around.
