#nmprobs

I have never before in my life used a hashtag.  I don't have an instagram or twitter account because I refuse to add more crap to my life.  One time suck is all I need to contend with.  I am always amused by the use of the # though and what people say with them.

What we did on Saturday seemed worthy of a hashtag...
We often joke that the state flower should be the tumbleweed.  Living in an "rural" area surrounded by them can be frustrating.  Throwing them back out into the mesa just means that the next wind storm that comes along will land them right back in your yard.  I joked that I should start marking them to see how many of them really do make it right back to my yard.

As you can see, we were overrun by them this time.  Loading them all up to drive off into the middle of nowhere wasn't going to be an option this time- there were just too many!  My solution?  Burn them!  My husband thinks I'm worse than a boy scout - they are notorious for playing with fire and burning things they shouldn't.  What can I say?  I love a good fire and I love the smell of fire.
Jared was worried that we were going to get fined or carted off to jail so he went in and checked the burning rules for our county.  We got the mandatory water supply and shovel on standby next to the fire incase anything happened.

What are snow shovels good for in NM?  Scooping up prickly tumbleweeds.  Pretty awesome!  If you're in the mood for that campy smell, come on over.  We drenched the house in smoke from burning all those tumbleweeds.  Good times!
