Jared Rocked His Talk

Jared was asked to speak in sacrament meeting today about getting is Eagle and how it applies to the Aaronic priesthood.

He improvised his intro and closing and then read his prepared paragraph:

"The way i see it great men are what make the priesthood great. Imagine the priesthood is a sword it can't go fight on its own so it has no real power but when a man is given that sword he can use it to fight off the adversary. Also just because you have the sword doesn't mean you have the power to wield it you have to build yourself up to be able to hold the heavy sword and you have to practice with it every day in order to get good with it and be able to use its full power. For me getting my eagle was one of those ways to build you up to wield the sword well. Getting my eagle has especially helped me through teaching me leadership which can be applied to my calling as president of the teachers quorum so that i can better lead and guide the rest of the quorum. Getting your eagle also helps you to gain a true love for service which is one of the main duties of a priesthood holder.D&C 107 20 The most important part i believe is that we learn that everything we do is for god. We start every meeting with a prayer and the scout oath where we swear to do our duty to god at all time "
He also read the scripture reference.  He looked up for most of the talk, was easy going and personable.  He had people laughing.  He communicated well and gave us a window view into who he is becoming.  Naturally talented at public speaking, someone who understands the gospel and how to apply it and is a leader.  Oh and he prepared it all on his own.  The only help he got was working in a scripture reference.  He rocked it!
