Lady Killers Graduate

My little man graduated....oh wait. so sorry. It was a promotion ceremony. My bad.  Totally different.    Anyway, he kicked elementary school's butt and now it's time to see if he can survive middle school.  The boys took the day seriously and dressed for success - thus their being awarded a promotion ;)  They were killing me with how full of themselves they were.  Jordyn was looking pretty sharp as well...especially with our super sophisticated dog, Watson.
I txt my husband about half way through the ceremony where they were still in the process of reading "oh the places you'll go"- yes they read the whole darn thing- "I'm sure you are so sad that you are missing this 1 1/2 hour ceremony."  He sent me back a mock sad face.  What I can't figure out is why they never plan appropriately for how many parents will show up for these torture sessions.  There's never enough chairs set up in the gym so people are left to stand or sit back at the lunch tables.  It really wasn't all that bad, I just like being dramatic.  I don't think those things are meant to be fun, just a right of passage.  What was interesting was that they were giving out paper plate awards as well.  Ethan received the "time keeper" award -he always knew what was supposed to happen and when and kept everyone on time and task.   The biggest surprise was that a majority of the kids didn't receive any awards.  There are a few sane people left in the world that don't give awards to everyone for the mere fact that they can breathe so that no one feels left out.   We also didn't sing a creepy song about the president but we did sing one about America and said the pledge.  All's not bad in the world.

After the ceremony we went out to lunch.  Gabe has a bran new 4 day old sister that got to come with us - along with his mom and dad.  I was surprised to find photos on my phone of the lunch - I guess Ethan snapped some shots.  The table next to us was so taken by the boys cuteness that they gave us all their cookies -score!  Then we came home and the boys tried to play outside with their nerf guns in those suits.  Even though they looked super cute and like men in black, I nixed the playing in suits.
