Cinematic Gold

We don't have church until the afternoon this year.  It leaves us time in the morning for complete laziness.  How lazy were we feeling today with it being so dark, dreary and cold outside?  The kids joined us on our bed and we didn't get up until it was time to start getting ready for church.

The laziness was so bad that instead of reading "The Friend" my husband turned on audio mode while we were all cozy under the blankets on our bed.  Totally awesome.  I didn't even have to have open eyes!  Hey, it's fast sunday…gotta conserve energy….and my mood!

Next up.  Nate started exploring the media.  His first stop was on our videos that were on there.  He hadn't watched them yet. He kept pointing out where he was in the videos.  I was in the mood to point out all my flaws.  The massive zit on my face.  The missing makeup on my eye from all the crying I had been doing.  The messy desk.  He agreed with them all and said, "Wow, that is bad, bummer for you, I look awesome! Don't worry, with me in the video, it made you look better."  hahahaha  Thanks honey!  Come a little closer so I can beat you with this oar! (my new favorite phrase thanks to something I learned from Elder Holland and talked about last post)

Next up was this little gem of an area under "feature films."  We started off our cinematic journey with "Johnny Lingo."  My all time favorite.  It never gets old and it never doesn't make me cry.  It is way old but nostalgic and awesome!  Jordyn gave us an excellent recap when it was over.

Now the piece of resistance (just saw the lego movie yesterday- so I had to say that) The church movie of all church movies.  I'm telling you, pure entertainment.  I am also quite certain- but cannot confirm - that this was, in fact, the inspiration piece that led to Napoleon Dynamite and subsequently his brother Kip!  There is no doubt in my mind and don't want to be told otherwise because it is too perfect.
The 2 oldest weren't in our room so we called them back to let them see what the dating world had in store for them….and so Jared could see what he looked like in real life!  Hahaha.  He was laughing.  He said "I'm socially awkward, but not that bad!"  I reminded him of some of the lines in the movie and asked if he had ever uttered such things from his lips….dun dun dun!  Emma and I were both disappointed in the ending but it is definitely worth your time.  Gold pure gold…like solid gold dancers gold!

ps, Everything is Awesome!
