We are finally doing my family dream trip! You would think that I would be so excited that I would be spending every waking hour planning out every detail of our trip. What is this family trip, you say? A church history tour to Nauvoo. Seriously so excited. We are even taking my absolute favorite way to travel, our home away from home....the RV. I have been feeling pretty crappy the last few days, so to get me excited, Nate took me to lunch on Saturday in it while I laid in the back on the bed watching dish....we don't have dish in the house, so I got to watch a show about ultimate tree houses while he drove us to lunch...so fun. I'm telling you, it's the life and I don't deserve such awesomeness.
So, I haven't done a single thing to plan out this dream trip. Nate knows my many faults when it comes to travel. I hate packing and I hate planning. I just want to show up and have someone tell me what to do. I used to be a lot more proactive and plan out lots of details when we went on trips, but we seldom stuck to them, so I just stopped planning....or got lazy...not sure.
How does one make the hubs happy and still avoid planning anything. Know someone who loves to plan and who has been on the exact trip you are about to embark on. My friend was kind enough to drop off her binder of information for me. It was a gold mine. It makes me want to cry, it's that awesome! I told the kids after she brought it over "see you just have to know someone who has talents you don't posses and then exploit them for your own good." haha
My plan to look like an organized spiritual giant while touring through the historical sites that were so transformative to the foundation of our faith is complete! All I had to do was use my copy machine and a binder I had on the shelf and some page protectors and voila- instant awesomeness! I am so blessed to know my friend and so blessed to be taking this vacation and I'll be even more blessed if we make it thru a road trip and lots of "boring" activities as a family without anyone coming to any bodily harm or if we're all still speaking to each other! lol
