On Monday, Ethan comes running upstairs saying that he's got "good news and bad news." He didn't get to finish telling me because he was busted for telling me something he wasn't supposed to. The one thing I've learned is that my 2 little ones cannot keep a secret to save their lives. Jordyn especially, she likes to give clues that give away the secret so I always have to stop her from giving clues. Ethan just likes to be the bearer of news and feels that it is his purpose in life. Anyway, I guess Nate wanted me to see the picture first so he didn't want Ethan telling me. It was the more entertaining approach letting the picture speak for itself instead of telling me. I gave the desired entertaining theatrics when I saw the picture and I'm sure he thought I would finally concede that getting the cat was the worst idea ever.
This fritz a fratzen cat thinks my bean plants make a nice cool place to chill. Seriously? Why? Here I was blaming the merciless wind on the destruction of my poor beans and it was the cat the whole time! I should have know by the way she thinks the table is her personal throne. I mean look at her. It's disgusting. How is that even comfortable?
I decided to put some new plants in the 2 planters that had the beans in them. I put string all around the cage that is in the pots to hopefully deter the cat from thinking that climbing in was a good idea. Besides, how could she get in with all the string blocking it. Well, let me tell you how. She just pushed and clawed and chewed her way in. I went and got some green chilis and peppers to replace the beans and she about destroyed them too. I also spotted her walking in my planter that has the spinach. I'm really not sure what the draw is. Maybe the coolness of the dirt? She does like to roll in dirt.
Today I checked on my tomato plants. Yes, I decided to go for one more try at the tomatoes. I hate defeat! I planted those on Tuesday and today is Thursday. Wouldn't you know it, 1 tomato plant has been chewed down to a nub and the other one is missing 3 of its big beautiful branches. Instead of an alien invasion, I'm thinking that my cat must have a thing for tomato plants.
So, the good news: the mystery has been solved. The bad news: the only solution is the cat "runs away"! But that would mean that I admit to my husband that I should have never, ever, ever, ever gotten a cat for the kids....... ;o/
ps, my arms are still covered in a highly itchy rash that seems to continue to spread....I'm now blaming the cat!
