Yeeeee haaaaaw

Last night our friends invited us to come hang out in their box seats to watch the rodeo.  Of course when MJ heard there was a chance to see a rodeo she was all over it and said that we absolutely had to go.  She loves country music, cowboy boots, cowboy hats, camouflage and horses...basically paradise as far as she was concerned.  The other kids weren't as excited about the idea and would have rather stayed home destroying their brains on video games.  In reality Nate and I are a couple of hermits that would rather hang out at home or in our rv than do anything else and this is rubbing off on our kids.  It is like pulling teeth to get the kids to want to go anywhere where there are people.  I make us do things so that we don't turn into a bunch of trolls that don't know what to do when they run into a human being.  The crazy thing is that usually I will force something like last night upon my family and then when it is time to actually go I don't feel like it anymore and then I am the one that has to be drug out of the house.  We are a sad bunch, I tell you.  It was a lot of fun though.  Jared thought it was cruelty to animals though and had a wince on his face most of the time.  He especially felt bad for the little baby cows that get roped and tied up.  It was cracking us up.  When I explained to Emma that the bulls and horses buck because they get their balls yanked up into their bodies so they get really mad and buck around, the look on her face was priceless. I mean, what else do you need for a fun evening besides popcorn, soda, some cowboy hats to fully immerse yourself in your setting, horses, cute cowboys, friends, your family and the opportunity to experience something through your kids' eyes......and then make fun of them. :0)
