This was our junior year of high school, we were at 'Cole's house and we were going to a Mormon prom, although I think they called it something different back then. I didn't go to any of the high school dances/proms...... I know.....collective "aawww, how sad." Not really, but there are some pretty entertaining stories behind that.
Anyway, all I can think of when I look at this picture is:
"I like your sleeves, they're real big."
"Thanks, I made them myself."
My friend did, in fact, make that dress with the super puffy sleeves with her Mom for prom. I borrowed her younger sister's dress so that I didn't get kicked out of the Mormon prom for dressing like a hussy. It was back in the day when you had to have a dance card, even if you weren't a member and if someone thought your dress was too short, you had to kneel on the ground. If your skirt didn't touch the back of your legs, you were sent packing. lol Oh, there were many entertaining times where I gave my friend's mom a heart attack because of my rebel ways, but she let me keep coming around.
The other thing that makes me laugh.....besides the man mowing his lawn.....looking at this picture of my lusciously massive locks of hair, I think I missed my calling in life to join a "hair band." Forget the fact that I have little to no musical talent, the hair alone should have gotten me in. For a brief time in my life I dreamed of being in a band with my cousin, it would have been awesome!
So, now when it rains for a few days and the sun doesn't come out, I enjoy every moment of it and think back fondly of my days when the sun never came out and it rained all the time.
