Last night while I was at a baby shower, my husband and kids found themselves on a rescue mission. I thought I landed in an alternate universe when I came home to 2 kittens......that my husband brought into the house. My husband hates cats. He hates the cat we have. What on earth compelled him to bring 2 more home. Sappy eyed little kids, that's what!
I'm not sure of the entire events of the night, but there were 2 neighbors involved and kittens on the loose. Nate thought he was helping the neighbor get his kittens, turns out they weren't his. Who ended up taking them home?
They are totally cute. The kids already had them named by the time I got home. Mica is the grey one and butterscotch is the white one. This morning when I woke up I quickly realized that the kittens needed to be bathed because I had several flea bites. Great, now I've got fleas in my home!
Mica also wrestled with a sticker bush and his belly is covered in stickers. We've been trying to remove them slowly and carefully. There are still a couple left that we need to try and get out.
The kittens are killing us with cuteness. But, we made the little ones load them up in a wagon and go door to door to see if anyone lost their kittens. Then when that turned up nothing, I had them make signs to put in our front yard. My kids are seriously adorable!
Ethan and Jordyn have fervently been praying that we will not find the owners of these kittens-who turn into cats.
Our cat is not amused by these kittens and they keep having hissing matches. Then we took them outside and they were not fond of the dogs either.
Ethan and Jordyn have already made plans on who gets what cat and where they will live in the house and keep looking at me with those sad pleading eyes that melt my crusty heart.
Seriously, is this what it's come to? Are we the crazy cat people. I'm telling you, I need to live on a farm to better mask our animal craziness.
So, any bets on whether or not I can successfully get these kittens out of my house?
Surprisingly my oldest daughter and owner of our other cat is the voice of reason right now. She says the kittens absolutely cannot stay.....even though they are killing us with cuteness....well, and their fleas! I told her that if she were so cruel than she could call the shelter and ask them if we could bring them in.....she had to leave a message.....to be continued.
