Code Club?

On our way to the church last night Jared pulled out of his pocket the poll he made up for his code club.  You have a code club?
"Yes, I figured I was interested in learning to code so other people were probably interested too, so I started a club."
You made that poll of your own volition?
"Yes, I needed something to take to the principle to get permission to have it at the school.  I also needed to see if anyone wanted to be in the club and what they wanted to learn."
Let me get this straight, you founded a club, gathered information and are going to talk to the principle?  I had to hold his hand and spell out everything he needed to do for his eagle project and this he does without any help.  Whatevs!

He has been teaching himself coding for a couple of months.  Last week he called me into the room to show me that he finally got 2 monitors hooked up to the same computer.  He has programed a couple of games and 3 mods for mine craft- he does not have the art for it though and that's one of the reasons for the club.

He still needs a name for his club.  All he know is that he wants an alliteration.  There are 5 in the club and they decided to meet at the library.  His master plan is to teach everyone java so that by next semester they can put together a mod for mine craft  really fast and then turn over the html to the girls for the art portion of it- because the boys wanted to learn java and the girls html.
"The benefit of a club is not having to do the parts of programing that don't interest you."
Aahh, learning you are, young jedi.

This is the kid that is also taking mandarin for fun and actually getting an A.  If I could only get him to do his other work as well as the stuff he does for fun.
