FHE with PMG

As per our Family Mission Plan, Emma and Jared are to give 2 minute lessons from PMG every Monday night.  Tonight was the first time I had it together enough to make the assignments so they could be ready.

Jared started out the lesson with a little repeat after me exercise.
"Everyone say with me; family. home. Eve-Ning."
He had everyone repeat it a few times.
He then said:
"Now don't ever say family homenevening ever again."  hahahahaha
We were then treated with a special song Emma and Jared wrote to go along with their lesson.  Honestly I didn't think they would come prepared with a lesson, much less a song!  It took Jared a few min to compose himself enough to get into actually singing it for us.  But once he did, you can see he got into it.  There were lots of dramatics involved -to my delight!

Here's the song set to the Mulan tune.

"let's get down to business
to defeat Sataaaaan
did they send me sinners
when I asked for just

You're the saddest bunch I ever met
but you can bet before we're through
mister, I'll make a Mormon out of you

Spiritual as Jehova
but humble with in
once you find the spirit
you are sure to win

You're a Christless, pale, pathetic lot
you haven't got a clue
somehow I'll make a Mormon out of you."

Are my kids just adorable or what?  They each took their turn with their part of the lesson....which ended up being way longer than 2 minutes each.

Emma had Lehi's dream.  When she asked about the great and spacious building and how to hold onto the rod, Ethan said "I'm a duck, quack quack."  Jordyn looked at him like he was crazy and he said "what? you know?  when you pour water on a ducks back, it just rolls off."  Yes master Obi Wan, that's right.  For a kid who looks like he is paying zero attention he sure pulled out some awesome remarks tonight.

Jared decided to entertain us once more when it was his turn.  He channeled the priest from princess bride: "Famawees, is what bawings us togewer today, and luv tew luv..."  You're killin me smalls! His part was on "the gospel blesses families.

Now, these pictures make it look like our little night was all sunshine, rainbows and major doses of the spirit.  Yeah, not so much!  But we did it, and had a lot of fun.... for the most part.  The kids need practice teaching and coming up with answers for themselves so we're gonna call this night a win.  Oh and no, that's not a picture of nate praying, it is of him examining his eyelids while we were trying to hold the night together, he does have to leave the house by 5am tomorrow to work at the Temple, so I refrained from throwing a pillow at him.
