She's Learning Early

My little 9 year old daughter told me of her new plan tonight.  She decided that she should make macaroni and cheese for dinner every friday night.  Here is her reasoning, "I'm really good at making it and G (Ethan's friend) loves it.  He gets really excited when I make it.  So, I think maybe I should make it every friday night."

Oh boy!  I asked her if that meant we should have G over every friday night to go with the mac and cheese and she ever so nonchalantly said "yes".

G practically lives at our house already (he's started calling me "2nd mom") but he has been sick for the past week so maybe this was a way for her to entice him back over?  I don't know.  How could this be?  Poor G's parents are major cross fit and paleo dieters, so I can see why he fawns all over the super cheesy velveeta mac and cheese of goodness that Jordyn has been making for him.

Jordyn loves to cook and she has a few meals that she makes all by herself.  She makes spaghetti, mac and cheese, grilled cheese, pizza from sorta scratch and nachos and she is always helping me with whatever I'm cooking.  She's pretty good and apparently has found the value in possessing such a skill.  Catching a man......or in this case.....a boy....who happens to be her brother's best friend!

I guess I shouldn't be surprised.  I lured Nate in with starbursts in french class.  One day I figured out that if I brought in candy, he would talk to me to get to my candy.  So I started bringing it in more frequently and ever so casually placing it on the left top corner of my desk so he would be sure to see it.    He totally fell for it every time.  The funny thing is that he thought I hated him in high school.  Yep, loved to hate him.  He was a player and all the girls fawned all over him and I was not going to be stupid enough to fall for it like every other girl!  A little real life pride and prejudice going on there. hahaha

Speaking of pride and prejudice- I was chatting with my yw tonight about our outing that we were taking and trying to decide if we had time to go get a treat as well.  This led me to tell them that I couldn't partake of whatever we went and got because I am temporarily insane and only consuming liquid nastiness from my juicer.  My advisor was apparently there the day I made my snarky comment to my health nut juicing friend about nasty green juice that I wasn't making or drinking.  My advisor had a good laugh and teased me about it for the rest of the night.  She couldn't wait to tell health nut all about it, good thing she already knew!
